COMPETITION DESCRIPTION

All Rounded Drone Competition (A.R.D.C) is a drone designing, mission-based challenge and mini-drone racing competition in UTAR Sungai Long Campus hosted in Collaboration with Department of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering of the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science, and KakiDIY. A.R.D.C aims to deliver an interactive form of engagement in promoting innovation and creativity in creating a platform to encourage the application of knowledge while being bold in implementing new ideas across Universities and institutions of higher learning as well as secondary schools across the country.

A.R.D.C is a 2 days 1 night event that engages the makers' community to create open source drone designs. Participants will design and build their own drones with materials provided and basic programming which will be taught on the first day of the event. Participants will have to use their drones to compete in efficiency, flight duration, and performance and design outlook alongside completing mission objectives as the main highlight of the competition on the second day. A qualification round will be conducted to ensure each team is prepared for the competition.

Companies and exhibitors related to aviation and engineering will be invited to host an exhibition showcase and provide advice on the competition throughout the event. Aviation workshops and Talks relevant to aviation will also be available to participants and members of the public free of charge with a target participation of 2,000 over both days.

Participating teams are allowed to bring home their creation. Before the event, all participants are required to attend a one-day drone workshop event on 2nd to 4th November 2018 during KLESF (Kuala Lumpur Engineering and Science Fiesta) at MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC). More information will be provided to registering teams on the workshop.
